1. Lonavala

Lonavala is a popular hill station in Maharashtra and is situated between Mumbai and Pune. It boasts of greenery and a sweet food known as ‘Chikki’. You can visit some dams or nearby greenery on the way to Bhaja caves which are rock-cut made. Don’t worry, you will find some waterfalls on the way too.

2. Morachi Chincholi Peacocks

If you have weekends off, head to Pune on Friday itself and then after a brief night rest, go ahead to Morachi Chincholi that is just 50 km away from Pune. The place is situated on the Pune-Ahmednagar highway and has a peacock sanctuary. Yes, a peacock sanctuary that boasts of more than 2,500 of the national birds flying all over. If you go in the monsoons, you can come across a dancing peacock as well! They can be best spotted during early morning or late evenings.

3. Pune villages

If you are late and wish to spend a night in one of the villages, ask the villagers and they will be more than ready to host you for the night. Eat the famous ‘Bhakri’ and Pakodas in the day and see how they do farming in their farms.

4. Panchgani

Panchgani is situated at an altitude of 1334 meters above the sea level in Maharasthra. It is a beautiful hill station surrounded by the river Krishna. Many newlywed couples make it a point to spend their ‘honeymoon’ in this wonderful scenic and romantic location. Of course, you can spend the afternoon time shopping or visiting the old city areas.
